How to draw DOTTY

Hello Zentangle pattern: Dotty. Image © Linda Farmer and TanglePatterns.com. ALL RIGHTS RESERVED. You may use this image for your personal non-commercial reference only. The unauthorized pinning, reproduction or distribution of this copyrighted work is illegal.friends and welcome back to a fresh new week of tangle inspiration. Or maybe we should say an inspiration of tangles?

Our nice 'n' easy and very sweet Monday tangle is named Dotty, it's another from CZT Angie Gittles.

Angie writes,

I've been a bit infatuated with using dots and Beadlines lately. And you know I love grid tangles.

So, here's Dotty – which also was my Mom's (Dorothy) nickname.

It can be turned all different ways to create various patterns.

Inspired by her infatuation with dots, we've been exploring Angie's series of similar super easy "dotty" tangles, be sure to check them out so far here.

For my example of Dotty I went with one of the versions that created a sweet floral appearance. This would make a pretty ZIA with the addition of some color and maybe even some Sakura Gelly Pen metallic glitter 🙂

Angie illustrates the step-by-step instructions for drawing Dotty below and her monotangle demonstrates ways to combine, flip and rotate the fragment to create variations.

Thus patterns that are drawings of a recognizable naturalistic or actual object, figure, or scene, are not tangles. A pattern is not always a tangle — here's what makes a tangle.
